Secure and Multihomed Vehicular Femtocells
Operators must ensure seamless voice and data session continuity even when subscribers are on move. Service continuity is one of the most critical quality parameter in a cellular system. QoS during handover is always hindered by the handover latency and packet loss. Among several approaches, IP multi-homing is a promising solution to achieve throughput increment and packet loss reduction. Theoretically, it can ensure no interrupt or packet loss during the handover. In this paper, the authors present a novel Host Identity Protocol (HIP) based secure vehicular femtocell scenario. For the evaluation, they have developed a simulation model on top of HIPSim++ framework (simulation framework for HIP) integrated into INET/OMNeT++.
