Securing Smart Grid and Embedded Systems Against Cyber Attacks

Smart grid is a next generation power grid that integrates IT with the existing power network to optimize energy efficiency through the interactive exchange of real-time information between the supplier and the consumer. Embedded system is one of the main components of smart grid. Embedded systems are connected to the physical environment through sensors collecting information about that environment and actuators controlling that environment. With the advent of cybercrime there is also concern on the security of the infrastructure primarily that involves communications technologies, the smart grid system is vulnerable to cyber attacks.
