Talent management, the management of individuals and workforces toward achieving improved performance, is among the most critical components to the Masters' success. In fact, the research respondents ranked attracting and retaining the best employees as the top factors in contributing to their shared services organization's (SSO's) success. Talent management, then, is not "Nice to have," but one of the vital components to help achieve higher levels of performance. The significance of talent management was not lost on any of the research participants. The Masters, however, are more adept at converting thoughts into action.
