The Inverse Discrete Fourier transform (IDFT) technique has been used for simulating mobile channels in 2D isotropic scenarios because of its speed and simplicity. For simulating channels in directional scenarios, the IDFT can still be used, but it is not well developed. In this paper, a more generalized mobile channel simulator, using the IDFT, for directional scenarios is presented. The 2D directional scenario is modeled by the von Mises distribution. Derived quantities, here demonstrated using the level crossing rate and correlation, can have some differences from the theoretical forms. However, the performance of the statistics simulated using the IDFT is adequate for many simulation requirements.
