Economic upheaval has pulled small businesses into troubled waters. With a steep drop in consumer buying power at one end and mortgages, business loans, inflation, credit card debts, high maintenance costs on the other - it is hardly surprising that business cash flow is drying up faster than a patch of water in the Sahara. There is only one way out. Reduce expenses and increase sales. Of course, this is easier said than done, even in good times.
