Executive Summary

Recently, Body Area Networks (BANs) have been considered as a new short range wireless application, especially for the medical and healthcare as well as the entertainment. The body area channel is very different from other wireless channels in the sense that the antenna - human body interaction is an integral part of the channel so that the directional approaches which are getting more popular in multi-antenna systems cannot be applicable. In this TD, the static path loss and impulse response models for the wearable and implantable wireless body area network including miniature antennas are presented
