Students Create Innovative Products Using Dairy Ingredients

From a convenient, grab-and-go version of macaroni and cheese to a low-crab, bite-sized frozen novelty, the student entries in the 6th Annual Discoveries in Dairy Ingredients Contest targeted multiple product categories and meal occasions. The student teams created product prototypes for snacks, desserts, candy, beverages and more, highlighting the versatility of dry and condensed milk ingredients, fluid milk, whey and whey derivatives, milk fat and cheese ingredients. Sponsored by Dairy Management Inc. (DMI) and funded by America's dairy farmers, the contest gave food science students the opportunity to formulate foods and beverages using dairy ingredients in a project that emulates new product development in the business world.
