Executive Summary

Mobile Ad-hoc NETwork (MANET) is an autonomous system of mobile nodes connected by wireless links. Due to Open medium, dynamic topology, distributed cooperation, ad-hoc networks are vulnerable to many types of security attacks. Black hole attack is one of the severe security threats which can be easily employed by exploiting vulnerability of on-demand routing protocols such as AODV. In this paper, the authors have discussed two routing protocols-AODV and DSR and Intrusion Detection using Anomaly Detection (IDAD) to prevent black hole attacks imposed by both single and multiple black hole nodes in AODV which helps to maximize network .
