All in all, the amount of time and effort involved in the co-ordination of activities for corporate communications is increasing with a commensurate increase in the need for flexibility and speed. This is because while messages and news needn't be uniform, they do need to be globally relevant. At the same time, flexibility is called for to be able to respond quickly wherever and whenever necessary. PR departments have to think about the global effect their messages will have, but also bear local cultural differences and preferences in mind and keep a close eye on numerous local markets.
