Executive Summary

This paper gives review of Medical Image DataBase (MIDB) systems which have been developed in the past few years for research for medical fraternity and students. In this paper, the author has surveyed all available medical image databases relevant for research and their use. Medical imaging is the technique and process used to create images of the human for clinical purposes (medical procedures seeking to reveal, diagnose or examine disease) or medical science. As a discipline, it is part of biological imaging and incorporates radiology, nuclear medicine, investigative radiological sciences, endoscopy, (medical) thermography, medical photography and microscopy.
