The popularity of the Agile Development methodology and the acceleration of offshoring coincided during the early 2000?s. In its infancy, the Agile methodology did not address use of distributed or remote teams as a large part of its philosophy, instead resting on the premise that teams should be in close proximity. As distributed or remote teams have become the norm, many companies have been working to integrate the Agile methodology with global delivery best practices. "Go Agile" or "Go Offshore" is no longer a choice an enterprise needs to make. Applying the Agile methodology to offshore or the global delivery model has been a challenge.
