Law is the Ethics of Yesterday, Ethics is the Law of Tomorrow (Kurbjeweit, 2007) demonstrated that law is a civilization tool existing to advance social interests which evolve with the ethos of the age. Arguably one of the most important movements in the evolving ethos of the society is the realization that business must become sustainable. This paper argues that to mirror the ethos of the times, legal and business decision making rationales of the future must balance three critical sources of knowledge: ethics, economics and science. The paper examines the important relationship between law, ethics, economics and science and provides a framework for teaching the cross-influences among these subjects to modern business students.
