This study examines the impact of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)-based traceability system on the competitive advantage in the food industry. The result from the in-depth interview indicates that the perceived benefits of RFID based traceability system, better customer service, order management, container management, supply chain optimization, and safety product, have a significant impact on the competitive advantage in the food industry. The findings of this study will contribute to introduce and adopt RFID based traceability systems as well as help to develop a better traceability system in the food industry.
