The Role of IEEE802.16e Mobile WiMAX

A recent technology for the next generation (Fourth Generation (4G)) of mobile broadband networks is commonly known as Worldwide interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) that is designed to provide high bandwidth over long range transmission. IEEE 802.16e mobile WiMAX is accountable for the job of establishing interoperability and conformance between products. This paper provides a brief overview of mobile WiMAX, its features and challenges on the wireless local and Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) standards IEEE 802.16 and IEEE 802.16e.
