Research on keyword search in XML database is on the increase, owing to its convenient and extensive use in Information Retrieval (IR) from XML data. Bao et al., proposed an IR-style approach utilizing the statistics of underlying XML data, to resolve keyword ambiguity problems. The authors find that this approach suffers from the problems of not dealing with tag and data node separately and inefficient utilization of tag and data node frequency information. Based on their findings, they propose a new approach for keyword search for XML document, based on two-level indexing, to resolve these problems.
