Traffic Behaviors on the Mobile Internet

With the rapid rising of the number of cellular phone users, accessing the Internet via handset devices is becoming a new norm in terms of network activities and people's daily life, resulting in an ever-increasing usage of the mobile Internet. Unfortunately, little is known about the details of how people use the mobile Internet. In this paper, the authors present a measurement analysis of the subscriber behaviors of the mobile Internet using a data set collected from the Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) gateway of a mobile telecom carrier, covering 17316616 requests and involving 80690 users.
