The increasing demand for mobile Internet and more complex multimedia applications, has determined the continuous development of broadband wireless access technologies, over the past years. Among the 4G technologies that successful managed to impose, is Mobile WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access), a technology developed according to the specifications of the IEEE 802.16e-2005 standard. In a typical scenario, this technology is expected to provide a data rate of about 25 Mbps, considering a cell radius of up to 3 km, and at vehicular speeds higher than 100 km/h, without the need of a direct Line-Of-Sight (LOS) between the transmitter and the receiver .
