Great service is critical with every single customer, and even now, restaurants are under tremendous pressure to accept card payments at every possible venue; at the curb, at the counter, upon delivery and at the table. In recent years, identity theft has become a growing concern among consumers. Unsuspecting merchants, and their customers, have become the target of scams designed to capture cardholder information. With this information, criminals are able to make fraudulent purchases, or even worse, steal a consumer's identity. One type of scam called card skimming is a particular threat to restaurant owners.
