For the purpose of transportation projects, several travel surveys are organized, including very Home Interview Surveys. The main purpose of organizing Home Interview Survey is to quantify travel patterns and relate these patterns to the socio-economic characteristics of trip makers. This survey provides elaborate information, but while calibrating the demand models selection of variables is mostly based on trial and error. The main objective of this paper is to use data mining techniques to understand what exactly constitutes the basic dimensions of the socio economic characteristics of the traveler, so that only such questions can be presented to avoid redundancy.
