Intel's IT Business Value (ITBV) program has shifted the IT investment decision making process to a customer-focused, data-driven model that demonstrates the impact of IT on Intel's bottom line. The investments one manages with the ITBV program have delivered more than USD 8 billion in business value since the program's inception in 2002, representing 31 percent in growth of business value year over year. The paper implemented the ITBV program to assess both the forecast value of IT solutions and the actual business value delivered to the internal customers and to Intel as a whole. The paper forged close alliances with the internal customers and developed methods and metrics for tracking IT benefits.
