Using Benchmarks In The Assessment Of An MBA Program
Many schools are developing assessment systems to monitor their students' progress. In the U.S., assessment tools and approaches vary depending on what the data are intended to represent. In a national survey on the assessment activities in American higher education, Kuh and Ikenberry (2009) made the observations: 1) The vast majority (92%) of all colleges and universities use at least one assessment approach or tool with institutionally valid samples; two thirds of all schools use three or more. 2) Nine of ten schools use at least one institutional-level and one program-level assessment approach; 77% use two or more of each type and 58% use three or more of each.
