Executive Summary

This paper describes the experiences of the Federated Integration Test team in implementing the IBM Data Studio pureQuery Runtime. The paper describes the use of pureQuery to access DB2 for z/OS databases from existing Java Persistence API (JPA) applications running in WebSphere Application Server (WAS) 7.0. The paper includes the steps performed to achieve this implementation in the environment, the issues encountered, and possible solutions. Two scenarios were tested: WAS 7.0 and IBM Data Studio pureQuery Runtime 2.1 on Windows connecting to a DB2 for z/OS database. WAS 7.0 and IBM Data Studio pureQuery Runtime 2.1 on z/OS connecting to a DB2 for z/OS database
