This white paper will explore various aspects of video as a 21st Century literacy. The paper will examine the use of video from three different perspectives: as a communications technology, as a learning object, and in the form of video production curriculum. Pedagogical theories will also be discussed as they relate to the use of video in education. The increased use of video across the curriculum is being driven in part by the increased availability of video based learning objects, and students' perception that their use enhances learning. At the same time standards have been developed to address in influence of technology in educational settings.
