Virtual Machines Security in IaaS Platform

Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) cloud computing model has become a compelling solution that enables customers to rent their hardware, as needed, in the form of Virtual Machines (VMs). These VMs are hosted by the cloud provider and controlled by the cloud consumer, making security management in the IaaS platform a shared reasonability between the provider and consumer. This shared responsibility causes a loss-of-control security problem that makes the virtual infrastructure of the IaaS platform a target for potent malware, as traditional in-guest security solutions can be easily subverted and hence cause resource sharing exploits in the IaaS platform.
