Existing Enterprise Information Systems such as CRM, CMS and ERP systems use Relational DataBase (RDB) systems to store information for their proven reputation of scalability, reliability, efficient storage and optimized query execution. Resource Description Format (RDF) can provide semantic data extraction and integration interfaces for RDB based systems even in settings where a loose and flexible coupling of the systems is required. Currently, there exist quite a few approaches and tools for RDB to RDF mapping but with limitations and shortcomings such as the requirement for programming expertise for writing the mapping scripts, the requirements for domain expertise to capture complex domain semantics, the need for huge dedicated RDF triple store as well as performance issues for dynamic mapping implementation.
