What Do Leaders Need To Know About Generation Y To Lead Successfully?

Date Added: Jan 2010

Generation Yers have grown up in a culture of praise, raised by active, involved parents who often interceded on their behalf, protecting them and ensuring that they were treated well and grew up safely. They have been brought up in the most child centered generation ever, even though over half of all families in the United States have divorced parents, one in four children lives in a single parent household, and three in four children have working mothers. The parents of Generation Yers view the child as the center of the family and spend more time with their children than did those of the previous generation, despite doing so in dual income and single parent families.
