Wood Shear Walls With Corners

Shear walls are the primary part of the lateral force resisting system for light-frame buildings. Sheathing-to-frame connections, anchorage methods, aspect ratio of braced wall panels and braced wall line, and type and size of perforations are the major factors that govern the response of light-frame wood shear walls. This study was designed to provide empirical and analytical insights into the response of shear walls with corner framing and to determine the uplift load sharing mechanism between the adjacent walls.
