ZL UNIFIED ARCHIVE Storage Vs. Records Management

Executive Summary

Storage Management involves gaining cost and performance efficiencies from offloading data to lower-tier storage and/or deduplication. Most often, storage management on e-mail systems involves the "Stubbing" of e-mails, where the envelope information is retained in the user's inbox but the message contents are moved to a different storage medium, to be replaced by a link, or a "Stub" left in the mailbox. Stubbing older e-mails eases the data load on servers such as Domino and Exchange and alleviates the need to implement storage quotas on the user.
