ChordScales is an app designed to assist you in building your guitar scales vocabulary in the context of whats most musically meaningful - chords and progressions! Rather than simply listing scale patterns, ChordScales allows you to choose a chord or enter a progression and then explore the available scales for each particular chord. A solid knowledge of the relationships between chords and their available scales is the foundation of intelligent improvisation and composition. Far too often, however, these musical building blocks are separated out in listings, chord charts and scales patterns without much effort to expose the relationship between them.ChordScales generates scales for any given chord across the entire fretboard. Type your chord in, rotate the device and scales from pentatonic to octatonic are generated. 6 or 7 string guitars with standard or user defined custom tuning per each string are all supported. To explore the scales, scroll the fretboard to change the position and the patterns will automatically reposition. You can also play the scale by touching the scale pattern dots to hear what it sounds like. Additionally, you can add multiple chords together to form a progression and explore each chord's scale options in relation with the other chords in the harmonic context of a song.
