Encrypt Text is a "Multi-Platform" app that encrypts text using the strong 256 bit key version of AES, the Advanced Encryption Standard*. AES is a "symmetric-key encryption standard that has been adopted by the US Government." If you are concerned about your business or personal text messages falling into the wrong hands, you can use this simple app to encrypt your SMS text messages or short email messages. As long as the sender and recipient use the same group password and have the Encrypt Text app installed on their phones, the encrypted text message or short email message can be decrypted by the recipient**.Encrypt Text provides a separate double entry "Password Manager" and therefor does not display the length of the current password in the main screen. Encrypt Text provides convenience "hooks" that launch the default SMS text messaging and default EMail apps, "pasting" the encrypted secret message into the SMS and EMail apps***.*This product complies with the US Export Administration Regulations, Commerce Control Supplement 1, Part 774, Category 5, Part II.**For maximal security it is strongly advised that the user delete the password and all text from the Encrypt Text app when not using the Encrypt Text app, or run the risk that the secret password can be used by an un-authorized user.*** The actual SMS text messaging has been tested on actual hardware running iOS 4.2.
