This version relates to Amendment 5 the latest amendment on release date.Future-proofAt present European Commission legislation requires transition from the present European flightcrew licensing rules (JAR FCL) to the legally binding FCL implementing rules by 8 April 2012. We follow this development closely and will of course update the application as soon as possible. In other words the application will not become obsolete when JAR does. We are in this for the long haul.What is JAR-FCL 3 ?The Civil Aviation Authorities of certain European States have agreed common comprehensive and detailed aviation requirements, referred to as the Joint Aviation Requirements (JAR), with a view to minimising type certification problems on joint ventures, to facilitate the export and import of aviation products, to make it easier for maintenance carried out in one European State to be accepted by the Civil Aviation Authority in another European State, to regulate commercial air transport operations, and for the issuance and maintenance of pilot licences.The JAR-FCL 3 inludes section 1 (the actual rules) as well as section 2 (supplementary information as acceptable means of complience (AMC) and interpretative and explanatory material (IEM).
