JemLock 1.01 (Mac)
Source: JemWare
We're all concerned about computer security. On the other hand, most of us don't have to worry about third world countries breaking into our computers and stealing all of our secrets. "JemLock" is a lighter approach to computer security, intended to guard against those annoying "peepers" in your home or office who just need to know that your computer is off-limits. We've devised JemLock so that your password will be found nowhere but in your head. JemLock hides the windows start menu as well as all of the desktop icons and the ever-popular "CTRL-ALT-DEL." It's not professed to be foolproof, but to the typical operator, it will certainly be an embarrassing deterrent. Stock, JemLock gives "peepers" three attempts to enter the password... after which the computer reboots. For each wrong answer, the computer alarms with a resounding "Bite Me!!!", which is sure to get attention. Win9x. $9.95; See our website for customization charges.
