And to make it even easier for all children to get Closer to Nature, Arla has partnered with the Forestry Commission - the government department responsible for the protection and expansion of Britain's forests and woodlands.The brand new Kids Closer to Nature iPhone app aims to inspire people of all ages to explore nature by ensuring that everyone has all our country's parks, forests and walks right at their fingertips.Using the latest in geolocation technology, simply open the app wherever you are to find a list of all the woodlands, parks and forests around you. Alternatively, enter a postcode or town name to find out what's happening nearby. With the new Kids Closer to Nature app, you'll never again have difficulty finding your little bit of green!Key features Created in partnership with the Forestry Commission with full access to their extensive database of 'places to go' and 'events'. You can search for a specific postcode or town or auto-load a list of nearby green spaces using geolocation software. Searches result in a list of the closest woodlands, parks and forests and include information on the facilities and activities available onsite such as parking, disabled access and toilets.Each entry shows the distance away from your current location along with a list of the closest towns. Selecting a search result brings up detailed information about the location including how to get there and what events are happening. Selecting one of the listed events reveals more information such as the date, time and price. And don't forget to explore our Activities section for fun ideas to keep the kids busy whilst outside.
