The advantage, for example compared to Google Maps: All maps can be used offline at any time without expensive data plans or roaming fees. Optionally one's own position can be localized via GPS or WiFi signal. Offline MapsVersion 1.4 of map-app contains maps of "Germany" with outline maps as well as detailed maps in up to 11 different scale and zoom levels. For Germany over 60.000 cities, communities and settlements can currently be found by the "Full-Text-Search" field. City maps for Berlin, Munich and Hamburg are pre-installed. The "Zoom Function" for these city maps enables a scaling down to street level. Further cities, locations and urban areas as well as thematic maps are in preparation. 2. SearchThe "Full-Text-Search" field automatically suggests the most likely results as soon as the first letter is entered. The search itself can be started either as "Locality" or "Locality, Street". 3. FavoritesThe "Favorites Function" allows storage of placemark coordinates with individual descriptions. These entries can be deleted or sent as recommendations by email. The saved favorites are listed in alphabetical order. Individual entries can be activated by finger tip. 4. Placemark CoordinatesLongitude and latitude coordinates for the center of the map or locater position are automatically displayed. 5. Action Menu- Save as Favorite:Storage of placemark coordinates with individual description and corresponding map section.- Manage Favorites:Delete existing entries.- Send per Email:Sending of coordinates (longitude and latitude) for a selected placemark with individual description and corresponding map section.- Outline Map: Return to outline map. - Cancel: Close the action menu. 6. LocalizationWith the "Localization Function" one's own position is displayed in the corresponding map segment by GPS signal. If a GPS receiver is not available, one's position can be located by internet via WiFi and mobile phone signal. 7.
