The hotness level varies from moment to moment, and is based on many factors. Hotness is shown on a scale from 100% high interest, to 0% apathy, down to -100% avoidance. You can rate each person and place's basic hotness, which is adjusted from moment to moment based on things like nearness to you, nearness to other people and places and their hotness, things they mention in their latest Twitter status, things mentioned in your Contact notes, online reviews of places listed on Yelp, and so on.Hotness is color coded on a their radar "blip" and in the listings of people and places. Their positions on the lists will bubble up and down with changes in hotness. Watch everything change in real time as you move around in a car, or as people check into new locations.For example, if someone you like is nearby, their hotness will rise. You might want to give them a call. If several friends are at the Mall, your interest in visiting the Mall may rise. Or if a nearby coffee shop has online reviews mentioning "expresso" and "live music" and those are things you told HotList were interesting, you might want to drop in!
