SMB Lite is a lightweight entry in the SMB app series. Although its functionality is limited, it may be enough for some users. It also provides a convenient test of system compatibility for SMB series apps.SMB Lite is an application for accessing and playing media files on network file servers that support the SMB protocol. SMB (also called CIFS) is the native network file sharing protocol of Microsoft Windows. Mac OS X 10.1 and later and most Linux distributions support it. SMB is also supported on a variety of other systems, including many network file storage appliances.SMB Lite can play many MPEG, MPEG4 and Quicktime audio and video files.
