WheresHome is an easy to use app that can set Home anywhere, and find Home after arriving at a destination. Home can be anywhere: Work, where the car is parked, where the kids were dropped off, the place to meet later at a large amusement park, or even home. Tapping the red Set Home button sets the Home Location. When WheresHome determines an accurate fix on its location, the Home Location Set message displays. After arriving at a destination, tap the green Find Home button to determine the Current Location. When WheresHome again determines an accurate fix on its location, two messages display informing where Home is relative to North and how far Home is in a straight line; additionally the compass image will display a red-tipped arrow pointing to Home, again relative to North. The Buttons: Red Set Home ButtonTap the Set Home button to establish a Home Location, which can be anywhere. The message Setting Home Location and an activity indicator display. The Set Home, Find Home and Map buttons are disabled and turn grey until Home Location is set. Tap the Stop button to stop the location service; the display returns to the startup screen. When finished, a message stating Home Location Set! displays. Green Find Home ButtonTap the Find Home button to establish a Current Location. The message Setting Current Location and an activity indicator display. The Set Home, Find Home and Map buttons are disabled and turn grey until Current Location is set. Tap the Stop button to stop the location service; the display returns to the startup screen. When finished, a message stating Home is of your location, and the message Distance to Home: x miles is displayed, calculated in a straight line between Home and Current Location. The Find Home button is disabled after initial installation until a Home Location is set, thereafter the Find Home button will remain enabled. Orange Map ButtonThe Map button displays a map depicting Home and Current Location, dropping a pin for each location. Home Location is the red pin; Current Location is the green pin. Tapping each pin displays an information callout that tells which pin it is and provides that locations latitude and longitude. Tap the Done button to return to the main screen. The Map button is disabled after initial installation until both a Home and Current Location is set; thereafter the Map button will remain enabled. Black Stop ButtonUse the Stop button if there is difficulty establishing a location due to interference with the device, such as when the device has no clear view of the sky, 3G network and the GPS satellites. Tap the Stop button to clear the display back to the original startup screen. Notes:If one pin is near the top of the map view, it may be under the Map To Home title bar. Both Home and Current Location can be the same location. The map may show one pin, the other is directly behind the visible pin. The first information callout accessed is for the pin behind the visible pin. Tap again to toggle between the pins information callouts. The app will define due North, South, East, West when close enough to declare as such. Distance between points will affect how this appears on the map however. Requirements: iOS4 on iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS or iPhone4. AccuracyWheresHome is set to an accuracy of 100 meters, which provides an acceptable level of accuracy without taking too long to set.
