Iomega packs 1TB into tiny NAS device

Not an acceptable solution at all, unless it is for home use. Those old zip drives were awful. I ran across I don't know how many small businesses using those things as backups. It was a 50/50 chance that the data was actually backed up since the drives failed as often as the disks. You'd be better off putting together a pc with a gigabit nic card. Could be done with the same amount of storage for less money. You could even run your choice of Linux with the latest version of Samba and it'd be Vista compatible for file sharing.

Check out the LaCie 2Big NAS device, similar size, all the same features except it is cheaper, and you can swap the drives yourself and let it rebuild the array for you. still has the raid 1 or 0 capability as well as the USB 2.0 expandability and the Gigabit LAN as well.
