On the final day of the BlogHer 2009 conference, I had an opportunity to catch up with a few members of the BlogHer Tech Committee, including Sarah Dopp, Liz Henry, Shazia Mistry, Nelly Yusupova, and Virginia DeBolt. Learn about their roles at BlogHer09, the interest of tech-related topics by attendees, and how they keep fresh with their IT skills. Elisa Camahort Page, co-founder and COO of BlogHer, took some time out of her busy schedule during BlogHer 2009 to answer a few questions about how BlogHer originated, the power of communities, how BlogHer melds its online and offline forums, and the trend of women in technology. Bing was a sponsor of BlogHer 2009, and since I attended the conference in Chicago last month, I had the opportunity to catch up with Rajesh Srivastava, Bing's Principle Group Manager. According to Rajesh, Bing moves beyond being just a search engine to actually help you make informed decisions. For more information about Bing, Microsoft's dedicated search engine, visit Bing's official Web site.

At this year's BlogHer conference in Chicago on July 24-25, Microsoft Office hosted the MicroSpa, where BlogHer attendees could relax, check out the latest tech from Office, get technical assistance, enjoy refreshments (fruits, cheeses, pastries, sparkling wine), and sign up for one of three spa treatments -- a back massage, hand massage, or make-up artistry. In addition to thoroughly enjoying a back massage, I had the privilege of talking to Louise Rasho, a Senior Marketing Manager for Office Live, about the upcoming release of Microsoft Office 2010. Find out when Office 2010 will be released, what significant and important incremental changes we can expect to see, and how Microsoft differentiates itself from Google docs and Zoho in the Web app space. TechRepublic's 10-year anniversary (and first annual Community Event) was held in Louisville on June 26, 2009. We streamed the event live and also provided the recording as a download. However, we also now have this condensed version, which includes some of the member interviews, for your enjoyment.

On my first night in Chicago -- a business trip to attend BlogHer 2009 -- I had the opportunity to attend a Webgrrls networking event. I've heard quite a bit about Webgrrls from Nelly Yusupova, so I was excited to see the community of geeky gals in action. For more information about Webgrrls International, and to see if there's a Chapter near you (or to find out how to start a Chapter in your area), please visit Webgrrls.
