A Critical Cogitation on Critical Information Infrastructure

Communication services and networks provide the backbone of the Korean economy and are vital to government offices, businesses and citizens. They are often referred to as critical information infrastructure. Information infrastructures like telephone lines, fibre optic cables and computer networks rule user's lives, and they have to be safe. While Critical Infrastructure (CI) is essentially national in character, CII (Particularly the Internet) is essentially international because it is more properly borderless in character. Control of Critical in Infrastructure is in the hands of providers and politicians who still have a confused picture about it. This paper discusses Critical Information Infrastructure in Korea and its organization.
