A New Routing Protocol for Mobility in Wireless Sensor Networks
Source: Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers
Recent advances in wireless sensor networks have led to many new protocols specifically designed for sensor networks where energy awareness is an essential consideration. Most of the attention however, has been given to the routing protocols since they might differ depending on the application and network architecture. In this paper, the authors propose an energy efficient data forwarding protocol called Energy Aware Geographic Routing Protocol (EAGRP) for wireless sensor networks to extend the lifetime of the network. The proposed protocol is an efficient and energy conservative routing technique for multi-hop wireless sensor networks. The significance of this paper is that there has been a very limited investigation of the effect of mobility models on routing protocol performance in wireless sensor network.
