A Novel Composite Right/Left-Handed Unit Cell Based on a Lattice Topology: Theory and Applications (Invited)
Source: Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers
This paper presents recent work on a novel topology of composite right/left-handed transmission line (CRLH TL) based on the so-called lattice unit cell. This novel CRLH TL has the advantage of exhibiting an all-pass behaviour and a frequency-independent characteristic impedance, in the so-called balanced case. Moreover, this structure may also present a larger group velocity than its conventional counterpart, which is useful for wideband operation. Possible implementations are proposed and potential improvements of well-known CRLH TL applications obtained by using the new proposed unit cell are discussed.
