A QoS Policy Configuration Modeling Language for Publish/Subscribe Middleware Platforms
Source: Association for Computing Machinery
With increasing advantages of cost, performance, and scale over single computers, the proliferation of distributed systems in general and distributed event-based systems in particular have increased dramatically in recent years. In contrast to distributed object computing middleware (such as CORBA and Java RMI) - where clients invoke point-to-point methods on distributed objects - pub/sub middleware platforms distribute data from suppliers to (potentially multiple) consumers. Examples of standardized pub/sub middleware include the Java Message Service (JMS), Web Services Notification, CORBA Event Service, and OMG Data Distribution Service (DDS).
