A Review on the Current Status of Security Engineering

Security Engineering is a field of engineering that deals with the development of detailed engineering plans and designs for security features, controls and systems. Security Engineering is like to other systems engineering activities in that its primary motivation is to support the delivery of engineering solutions that satisfy pre-defined functional and user requirements, but with the added dimension of preventing misuse and malicious behavior. This paper reviews the current status and trends in the area of Security Engineering. Security Engineering plays a vital role in protecting the information infrastructure, giving technology vendors both a responsibility and business incentive to improve the security of the software they produce.
