Absa Group Delivers Business Intelligence to the Desktop to Improve Decision Making

Absa Group Limited wanted to consolidate data from over 40 sources into a single business intelligence environment with high scalability and availability and ensure consistency and alignment with business strategy by standardizing business intelligence methodology, architecture, tools and measurement. The challenge was to enable easy access to information for decision makers in all business units as well cut costs of delivering and printing manually generated reports. Absa Group ensured high availability and scalability by building consolidated data warehouse on Oracle Database, storing over 4.5 billion records per month and over 7 terabytes of data as well as eliminated duplication of reports by consolidating business intelligence environment using Oracle Application Server.
