Administrating Oracle Database and ASM in XIV Environment

The purpose of this paper is to provide guidelines and recommendations on how to configure and Administrate Oracle database on XIV storage system when Oracle Automatic Storage Management (ASM) is used as underplaying volume manager. The intended audience is the XIV technical sales teams and their customers, creating or migrating Oracle database/s with ASM on/to XIV storage systems. Currently, all procedures in this paper were tested and documented on Linux Red Hat OS. It is other intention to expand this paper to cover other OSs (AIX, Windows, HP-UX and Solaris) in the future.
