Advantages of Incorporating a Business Intelligence Solution When Upgrading an ERP System

This paper discusses the benefits of incorporating a Business Intelligence (BI) solution when upgrading a company's ERP system. Upgrading to a new ERP version poses a great challenge to many organizations. However, many of these challenges can by alleviated by incorporating a BI solution during the upgrade process. The key activities involved in upgrading an ERP system are data conversion and the conversion and creation of reports. These activities are also part of the development of a BI solution, and it is therefore beneficial to develop the BI solution in parallel with the ERP upgrade.
