An Efficient Anonymous Authentication Protocol in Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks
Source: Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology
In this paper, the authors introduce an efficient anonymous authentication protocol in Vehicular Ad-hoc NETworks (VANETs) to resolve the issue on anonymous authentication for communication between roadside units and vehicles. The authors' proposed protocol cannot only guarantee privacy, anonymity, and other basic cryptographic requirements but also provide traceability of illegal users. Their proposed protocol utilizes the traceable ring signature scheme and the k-times anonymous authentication scheme to address the contradiction between the anonymity and traceability.
