The District called in Joe Ryner (no relation), an education-focused IT consultant and President of Ryner Computing, Inc., to help identify and deploy an affordable, comprehensive wireless LAN infrastructure solution to replace the ad hoc array of "Fat" access points deployed throughout the district. It was initially determined that more than 100 wireless access points would be required to provide reliable wireless access to network resources from each of the classrooms, offices and common areas throughout the District's seven buildings. As Joe Ryner researched the various wireless controllers on the market, he was quickly drawn to the NETGEAR ProSafe Smart Wireless Controller.
