A Mobile Ad-hoc NETwork (MANET) can be implemented anywhere where there is little or no communication infrastructure, or the existing infrastructure is inconvenient to use. A number of mobile devices may connect together to form one network. Address auto-configuration is an important issue for ad hoc networks in order to provide autonomous networking and self-management. In this paper, the authors take into account various parameters for designing an efficient address allocation scheme in MANETs and consider the best of them to build an efficient protocol for Address allocation in MANETs.
